Jerry Jones has buried the hatchet following last week’s radio ‘fireworks’, when the Cowboys owner blasted his interviewers in a bizarre rant.

The 82-year-old let rip following the Cowboys’ 47-9 humiliation at the hands of the Detroit Lions at AT&T Stadium.

During his regular chat with Shan & RJ on Audacy’s 105.3 The Fan, Jones threatened to do interviews elsewhere, telling his hosts: ‘Your job isn’t to let me go over all the reasons that I did something… I’ll get somebody else to ask these questions. I’m not kidding.’

The clip blew up, with Shannon Sharpe among those to criticize the Cowboys owner for his comments. ‘That tells me a lot about a man that has power and would abuse that power,’ the former NFL star said.

Jones has appeared on the show for 15 years and, a week on, he sought to clear the air with the journalists – even comparing their chats to ‘pillow talk’.

‘Did he want to avoid the confrontation?’ the billionaire joked after learning that host RJ Choppy was off.

‘I don’t have anything to say about last week. I’m surprised last week got the attention it got,’ he continued.

‘But when I think about what we try to do on this show… those (appearances) are really a privilege, it’s kind of like pillow talk – you get some inside stuff… I’m tickled to death that we have as much interest as we do.’

Jones compared their conversations to the type of interrogation he might receive from his wife Eugenia.

‘Get in your a** type of questions,’ he called them.

The billionaire continued: ‘I have no issue with getting up in front of a bunch of media, getting questions and answering them… the point is – in my mind – we’re not playing very good football right now. At all.’

Co-host Shan Shariff paid tribute to Jones’ openness, adding: ‘You’ve provided us radio gold and it is a privilege to be able to do this show with you for 15 years. We had some fireworks!’

The Cowboys are 3-3 heading into Week 8 of the NFL season, having enjoyed a bye week following defeat by the Lions.
