Trolls have been selling Jay Slater merchandise online less than 24 hours after his body was found.

The sickening products featured distorted images of the teenager on mugs and memes on stickers.

The 19-year-old’s body was found in a “very inaccessible area” in Rural de Teno national park on Monday.

Slater vanished in Tenerife on June 17 after he set off to walk back to his accommodation on the Spanish island.

Vile mugs with pictures of the apprentice bricklayer were on sale for £7 “or best offer” plus £2.94 postage.

While on Etsy, stickers were priced at £2.34 plus postage of £10.49 with delivery from the US.

The products appeared to be sold by the same person – a user by the name Elliot, from Birmingham.

The seller’s pages have since been removed.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

“These items are prohibited from sale on eBay,” a spokesperson from the online shopping site told The Sun.

“Any items that attempt to profit from a tragic incident such as this, or that are insensitive to victims of such events, are not allowed on our site.

“We take this extremely seriously and have removed the listing in question and conducted further sweeps of our site to ensure no similar listings are available.

“We are sorry for any distress caused to Jay Slater’s family.”

Jay Slater went missing in Tenerife in June while on holiday with friendsPA

The products have also been removed from Etsy.

A body discovered on Monday was confirmed as the missing teenager yesterday.

Officials in Spain say the injuries suffered were compatible with a fall “in a rocky area”.

His possessions including his phone, clothes and personal documents were found alongside his body.
