Jason Kelce has revealed the advice he gave his wife Kylie before she launched her hugely successful ‘Not Gonna Lie’ podcast.

The former Philadelphia Eagles star was well placed to help his wife, given the huge success of his New Heights show with his younger brother, the Kansas City Chiefs star Travis.

In the early weeks of Kylie’s show, she has toppled Joe Rogan at summit of the charts and while there is a long way to go before she consistently beats the podcasting giant, it is an exciting start to her new venture.

‘She’s killing it,’ Jason said in an interview to People. ‘It doesn’t surprise me one bit. She’s been the smartest one in the family for a long time.

‘People have been asking her point of view for a long time. And whenever she comes on our podcast, those episodes are usually the highest viewed. So I expected her to do well and hopefully that continues.

‘The only advice I gave her was “make sure you do what you want to do with the show.” It takes a lot of people, especially to do a podcast or anything that’s recorded, you work with a lot of people that are experts in their fields.

‘I think Kylie is a very authentic person. I think she’s very real. And I think that that makes people connect with her. And I think that she’s very smart, she’s funny, she’s charismatic, she’s beautiful. So I think when you combine all those traits, people tend to like listening to her.’

Kylie’s success comes amid her recent pregnancy announcement, with the couple expecting their fourth child – a fourth daughter.

Jason, meanwhile, has been adjusting to life away from the NFL after tearfully announcing his retirement last year following 13 years with the Eagles.

The success of New Heights has kept him busy – a new $100million deal to produce the show was signed by him and Travis last year – while he has also partnered with ESPN.

Kelce is a regular on their Monday Night Football coverage and last week launched his own talkshow on the channel.

His ratings haven’t quite rivaled Kylie’s podcast just yet – the first week only landed around 290,000 viewers.
