Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce heaped the praise on his quarterback, Jalen Hurts, following their thrilling overtime win Sunday.
The Eagles moved to 10-1 with a stunning 37-34 victory over the Buffalo Bills courtesy of a walk-off touchdown from Hurts with just under three minutes remaining in the extra session.
The win saw Philadelphia become the first team to book its spot in the NFL playoffs this season and Kelce, 36, played a crucial role in the winning play with his crushing block able to free the signal caller for the 12-yard run into the end zone.
But following the game, the star center only had praise for his quarterback, hailing Hurts for his ability to deliver in high-pressure situations.
‘There’s not too many guys that I’ve played with, probably no one that I’ve played with, that’s been more clutch down the stretch,’ Kelce told reporters in the locker room, via ESPN’s Tim McManus.

The veteran hailed Hurts as one of the most clutch players he’s played with during his career
‘When you look at, especially last year, two-minute situations, game on the line, a touchdown straight down the stretch, he’s been so good in crucial situations, things that have to happen.
‘That’s a trait not to take lightly. If you look at most of the best players, that is a trait that they have to have. Let’s be reasonable, the only reason we won the last three weeks is his ability to really get it done down the stretch when it matters most.’
Kelce gave Eagles fans a fright when he headed down the tunnel after giving away two late penalties against the Bills.
In the end they needn’t have worried, however, as, according to NFL reporter James Palmer, his short trip down the tunnel beforehand was simply to use the bathroom.
The Eagles beat the Bills 37-34 thanks to the signal caller’s 12-yard touchdown in overtime
And the bathroom break paid off as the veteran returned to the field to help Philadelphia seal its spot in the NFL playoffs.
By relieving himself ahead of overtime and returning for the coin toss, Kelce showed his experience after two rare lapses in concentration saw him penalized for false starts.
However, after using the bathroom Kelce rediscovered his best form and proved the unsung hero as Hurts scored the game-winning touchdown.
Kelce will hope both he and Hurts can deliver the clutch mentality once again next week when the Eagles face the San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field in a matchup of the NFC’s best.
