Makeup can be an instant anti-ager if you use the right products and employ the right techniques.
GB News spoke exclusively to a beauty expert and makeup artist about her essential tips for looking younger.
With a specific focus on women over 50, Pilar DeMann (founder of Pilar BLLac) advised ladies in middle age and beyond to pay their eyes and brows some attention.
For beautiful eyes, the expert recommended investing in an eyebrow pencil, eyelash curler and black mascara.

Pilar told GB News: “I am a brow and beauty expert with over 30 years of experience. My speciality is clean-looking, natural-appearing makeup – I work with people of all ages but my main clientele is women over 40.
“I am not a celebrity makeup artist – rather, I take care of real, everyday people, helping them look and feel their best.
“As we age, less is more. I teach people to do their brows, lashes, lips and cheeks in a simple, everyday routine that can be built on for special occasions.”
For Pilar, the ideal makeup look “opens” and “frames” the eyes without being “overwhelming”.
She advised ladies over 50 to maintain and style their brows with an eyebrow pencil, powder or gel for a “clean” look.
For luscious lashes, she recommended the two-step process of curling the lashes before applying “lots of black mascara”.
As for the rest of the face, the makeup artist suggested investing in a “good cream cheek colour and a swipe or two of a tinted balm”. She said: “Just this will wake up your face.”
She continued: “It’s very easy to add concealer where needed or eyeliner if you want a bit more pop.”
Pilar previously spoke to GB News about how women over 50 specifically can achieve younger-looking skin.
Offering some makeup advice to 50-plus ladies, she named the product that can make a “huge difference” – as long as you’re “strategic” about it.
