An actress has spoken out about her real-life husband’s ‘break-up’ with a co-star. Sally Carman-Duttine plays Abi Webster on ITV’s Coronation Street.
Fans of the soap may know that the actress is loved-up in real-life with Joe Duttine who plays Tim Metcalfe. Sally and Joe met on the cobbles six years ago and tied the knot in July 2022.
Sally confirmed the happy news on Instagram with a picture caption saying simply: “We did.” The image showed the couple sharing a kiss, both with a glass of fizz in hand and they stood under a balloon arch, Manchester Evening News reports.

But in the soap world, Joe is facing a break-up with his bestie Steve McDonald. As Corrie fans know, taxi driver Steve was left gutted when his wife Tracy Barlow left him for former Weatherfield County footballer Tommy Orpington.
Tracy has since left the cobbles for Spain with her new man and Steve has turned to dating apps. During the show on Wednesday, May 1, Steve was nervously going on a date with one of his matches and while he headed to the pub dressed to impress, he was taken aback to discover Carole had brought some friends along too.
Tim soon entered the pub ready for his lunch, much to Steve’s relief. Upon spotting Tim, Carole’s friend Aurora invited him to sit down.
But as Steve kept his friend stuck within his date, Tim’s wife Sally Metcalfe then arrived and saw her husband laughing and joking with the slightly tipsy women. Sally forced Tim to return home where she reminded Tim that he’s a married man and if he continued hanging out with Steve while he went on dates, people might start talking.
Tim was left ‘breaking up’ with Steve much to both of their upset later in the programme.
On Corrie’s Instagram page, Sally wrote underneath a clip from the episode: “Deeply moving stuff,” with a crying laughing emoji and a yellow love heart.
Fans also saw the funny side to her response. @all_things_precious commented: “Oh the mischief.” @anitapott42 said: “Have a word.”
And @lesleycampbell463 wrote: “I feel your pain!!!”
