Philippe Clement has refused to rule out a Rangers exit for Cyriel Dessers in the January window.

The striker claimed his first Ibrox hat-trick in a 5-0 rout of Highland League Fraserburgh as Clement’s team secured their place in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup.

Linked with Italian clubs Cagliari and Empoli plus French side St Etienne, 30-year-old Dessers admits he wants to play every week after slipping behind Hamza Igamane and Danilo in the striker pecking order.

Asked if he still saw a Rangers future for the Nigerian international, Clement said: ‘It’s a difficult question, that one.

‘If Cyriel goes, you need to replace him. And it needs to be at least the same quality.

‘If a player stays and he plays less and he becomes, because of that, unhappy, it’s also not good for the club.

‘So, we will see in the next two weeks what happens.’
