As the festive season approaches, M&S Foodhall has unveiled a selection of premium frozen desserts to provide a practical storage solution for holiday entertaining.

This year’s selection features an array of sophisticated desserts that can be conveniently stored in the freezer, freeing up valuable refrigerator space for other Christmas essentials.

The frozen range comprises restaurant-quality puddings that can be served at a moment’s notice during the busy festive period.

“This year’s frozen desserts are in a league of their own and ideal for stashing away in the freezer for planned OR unplanned hosting” said a spokesperson for the retailer.

The star of M&S’s frozen dessert collection is the returning Trifle Caked Alaska, which proved to be a showstopper last year.

This indulgent creation features a layer of custard semi-freddo made with British whipping cream, complemented by the raspberry sauce and whole raspberries.

The dessert rests on a bed of sugar-soaked sponge and is crowned with silky browned mallow and flaked toasted almonds.

New additions to the range include the Collection Raspberry & Pistachio Roulade, featuring hand-rolled meringue filled with raspberry compote and pistachio cream.

The elegant dessert is adorned with tangy raspberries and pistachios for added texture and flavour.

Another premium offering is the Lemon Meringue Cheesecake, which combines a hand-swirled lemon curd cheesecake base.

The zesty creation is topped with a generous layer of torched meringue for a striking finish.

For those seeking a truly decadent option, the Collection Chocolate and Guérande Sea Salted Caramel Tart offers a luxuriously rich chocolate ganache paired with luscious salted caramel. The dessert is crafted with a glazed, all-butter pastry base.

Customers can also conveniently purchase the desserts through Ocado’s online platform.

Shoppers have reacted quickly to the launch, with some confirming they’ve already stocked up on the sweet treats.

Taking to Instagram, one wrote: “Bought the Collection Raspberry and Pistachio Roulade yesterday and it’s in my mum’s freezer for our Christmas Day Dessert.”

“All looks delicious,” another commentator chimed in.
