Given the ubiquity of hair loss, scientists have created a wealth of treatments to tackle the condition, but many warrant a prescription.

Since time immemorial, hair care enthusiasts have reported huge success using natural ingredients.

One unique remedy using onion juice has gained widespread attention for its reported effectiveness in promoting growth.

The solution is particularly popular with hair care content creator Katherine Sewing, who has documented her success with the hack in great depth.

While the unconventional treatment might raise concerns about pungent odours, Katherine has become a huge advocate since it helped her grow hair in areas of her hairline that she had previously struggled to fill.

In a recent clip, the content creator claimed she used the remedy through multiple post-partum periods.

“Onion juice is hands down the most effective, very powerful, hair growth-promoting remedy,” she declared.

She added that while it shouldn’t replace hair oils completely, its effectiveness makes it worth considering despite the strong smell.

“I’m not saying that it is better than oils or that you should switch out oils for onion juice, or that you should be doing this every day,” she noted.

However according to Katherine, the results of using onion juice become visible quite rapidly.

“Very quickly after using it, I will notice brand new baby hairs growing, I’ll even notice hair growing in places like around my temples where I haven’t had hair growing previously.”

According to health bodies, the treatment reportedly stimulates dormant follicles into action.

“It brings all the hairs out of your scalp and it also stimulates faster hair growth,” noted Katherine.

Those seeking to maximise the remedy’s effectiveness can enhance it with additional ingredients, she noted.

“You can make onion juice even more potent by adding cayenne pepper, maybe a little ginger juice and a little garlic juice into it,” she said.

While acknowledging the remedy’s strong aroma, Katherine stressed that the results are worth it.

“I know you’re probably going to smell like a curry but if you are looking for a quick fix, I highly recommend this.”
