An expert has shared the importance of getting nutrients such as vitamin C, D and E into your diet.

Certified beauty expert with over 15 years of experience at face yoga app Luvly Jillian Osborne shared the best foods to achieve this.

She said: “To replenish your supply [of vitamin D], eat plenty of vitamin-rich foods such as fatty fish, fortified dairy products, and leafy greens.

“Vitamin C-rich foods such as citrus fruits can also help to combat winter-induced dullness. And add a sprinkle of nuts, seeds, and oils — full of vitamin E — which protects against oxidative damage.”

Vitamin C is an antioxidant thought to help boost collagen, brighten the complexion and prevent premature ageing.

Vitamin E is also important to look younger as the antioxidant effects can lessen the appearance of wrinkles.

Jillian claimed getting these nutrients into your diet can protect against external factors that speed up the visible ageing of the skin.

Jillian explained: “Chemical exfoliants such as alpha-hydroxy acids and beta-hydroxy acids dissolve dead skin cells, transforming dull, flaky winter skin into a smooth and radiant complexion.
