The skin naturally loses elasticity over time and wrinkles start to appear.

Factors such as diet, skin care, hydration and genetics all play a part in how obvious the signs of ageing are.

A beauty expert shared how facial massage techniques, or face “yoga”, can also contribute to a more youthful look.

Experts at YOGI TIMES said the “little-known” and free hack can “knock 10 years off your appearance”.

They shared the four exercises to get rid of a double check, smooth wrinkles and reduce the appearance of sagging.

Facelift

The experts said: “Start by opening your mouth wide and pulling your lips over your teeth. Next, smile as hard as you can.

“Simultaneously, place your palms on your cheeks with gentle pressure, moving them up towards your temples. This helps in stimulating blood flow and lymph drainage.

“This comprehensive exercise offers a natural lift and firmness to the entire face, resulting in a more defined facial structure.”

Cat eyes

“Inspired by the sharp and focused look of a cat, this exercise can lift and firm the area around the eyes,” the experts continued.

“Place your index fingers on the outer corners and gently pull the skin upwards towards your temples.

“At the same time, squint to create a slight trembling in the muscles. This strengthens the muscles around the eyes, reducing drooping and smoothing out wrinkles.”

Chin exercise

Experts added: “This practice reduces the appearance of a double chin, toning the neck area, which loses elasticity with age. Tilt your head back and look upwards, puckering your lips as if you’re trying to kiss the ceiling. Hold this position for a few seconds before releasing.

“Regular practice tightens the skin under the chin and defines the jawline, leading to a more sculpted and youthful neck profile.”

Fish face

“This exercise can tone the cheeks and reduce smile lines. Suck in your cheeks and lips to create a fish face. Hold this pose for a few seconds and then release, performing this action several times,” they explained.

“This increases muscle tone and reduces sagging and fine lines around the mouth.”

Founder of the company Jess Gabler said: “These face yoga exercises offer a natural and non-surgical way to combat the signs of ageing.

“Although you may not achieve instant results like with surgery, don’t be disheartened; consistently practising these exercises will lead to a significantly more youthful appearance over time.”
