How to look younger according to a woman, 54, who shares secret for glowing skin

Skin care, nutrition and genetics are all important when it comes to looking younger.

A woman who is often mistaken for being years younger has exclusively shared the routine she uses for glowing skin.

Ashley Rossiter, 54, shared that diet and exercise play a big part in the appearance of her skin.

She told GB News: “I eat a varied diet but don’t eat dairy or meat, so I supplement my diet with magnesium, vitamin D, B6, and vitamin 12.

“I wouldn’t say I was a saint when it comes to what I eat, and I love chocolate, but I try to keep an eye on my sugar intake as it’s not great for your skin, and it can trigger hormonal imbalances.”

Eating too much sugar can speed up the ageing process as it promotes the creation of advanced glycation end-products that damage collagen.

Collagen is important as it improves elasticity in the skin, helping it to appear more youthful.

As well as a good diet, Ashley stays active by walking her dogs and riding her horses “three to five times a week”.

She is a stickler for a good skin care routine too, including wearing a high protection SPF – great as sun damage is a key cause of older-looking skin.

Ashley added: “I always wear factor 50 SPF all year round. Skin care-wise, I love iS Clinical products, and whilst they aren’t cheap, they last a long time.

“They definitely work for me and have improved my skin texture and tone. I also use their Active and Hydra-Cool serum and cleansing wash and polish.

“My advice is to look at anti-ageing ingredients and go for the most potent formulations that fall within your budget to get the best results.

“I have a Déesse LED facemask, which I use three times a week, when I remember, and I always cleanse my face morning and night – if I don’t, I get blemish outbreaks.”

As well as making healthy choices for her body and skin, Ashley has had the help of some minor tweakments to achieve her youthful glow.

She continued: “My absolute go-to for tweakments is Amish Patel at Intrigue Cosmetic Clinic.

“Amish specialises in natural-looking results, leaving you refreshed rather than frozen or overdone.”

She said she has also had “nose-to-mouth filler, cheek, jawline and chin filler” as well as “anti-wrinkle injections”.

As a former stylist, Ashley added advice for anyone wanting to appear more youthful. She explained the clothing and make-up you wear can make a huge difference to appearance.

She added: “I also think what you wear can age you. As a former stylist, my advice is that you should wear what makes you feel good and not be afraid to try new looks, including make-up and hair.

“Again, getting trapped in a style decade can age you – your age is just a number and shouldn’t define who you are or want to be.”
