BBC One chat show Morning Live has been dropped from the TV schedules, as host of the show Helen Skelton makes an announcement. She told viewers that the series was “taking a break”.

Speaking at the end of the show on Friday, September 4 Helen explained the show would be missing from the TV guide for a couple of weeks. She said: “Morning Live is taking a bit of a break for a couple of weeks, we will be back on Monday, October 21st.”

Currently one of the Morning Live stars Dr Punam Krishan is taking part in Strictly Come Dancing and host Gethin Jones said he didn’t recognise her while she was performing. Taking to his Instagram stories Gethin said: “Who is this person?!” as Dr Punam performed a very saucy and sassy foxtrot and looked amazing in a Shania Twain-inspired outfit and routine.

Posting a picture from her dance on Instagram, Gethin said: “Who is this person?!” followed by a fire emoji. He added: “I really hope we get to see her loads this year – with Gorks as a coach – she could be sensational!” For the latest TV & Showbiz news, sign up to our newsletter.

He is no stranger to Strictly Come Dancing, having taken part in the show in 2007 and coming third. Gethin, who has been absent from Morning Live for the past week, pulled out all the stops to get to the Child of Wales Awards 2024 after working up in Manchester ahead of the star-studded ceremony which celebrates the inspirational achievements of remarkable young people in Wales. The end of his night saw him exit for a midnight snack in less glamourous circumstances, as Gethin admitted that he got to Swansea by helicopter.
