Camilla Tominey has ripped into Brooklyn Beckham after reports emerged this week that he instructed his parents to communicate with him exclusively through legal representatives in a letter dispatched last summer.

The correspondence was exchanged between the respective law firms representing both parties, with Brooklyn’s team at Schillings contacting Harbottle & Lewis, who act for David and Victoria Beckham.

The 26-year-old’s letter requested that his parents cease direct contact and refrain from making public statements about him on social media platforms.

No legal proceedings resulted from the communication, and the letter carried no legal force beyond serving as a formal request.

After reeling off a number of high-profile family disputes that have dominated column inches in years gone by, such as the Culkin brothers and Britney Spears’ conservatorship, Camilla wrote in her latest newspaper column that the Beckham saga felt like a “farce” in comparison.

Turning her attention to Brooklyn, specifically following the legal request he allegedly sent his parents in order to avoid direct contact, she said: “It is difficult not to marvel at the irony.

“Would this be the same Brooklyn Beckham who only has a public profile because his parents once tagged him relentlessly on social media?

“Unlike the child stars who surpassed or financially supported their parents, Brooklyn, 26, has never had to wrestle power from less eminent figures.

“He would, quite literally, be a nobody, were it not for his footballing father and Spice Girl mother. “There would have been no modelling career, no glossy photography book (widely panned by critics), and no Cookin’ With Brooklyn series without the Beckham name greasing every wheel.”

Camilla questioned whether his wife, Nicola, would’ve ever crossed paths with the budding chef if it weren’t for his “provenance”.

“She is said to be the meddling Meghan Markle figure of the piece. Nepotism may be an ugly word, but it exists for a reason, and Brooklyn Beckham embodies it in its purest form,” Camilla scathed.

Camilla summed it all up by suggesting that Brooklyn’s actions and the subsequent feud were “petulant, entitled and tone-deaf”, given the “genuinely abusive, exploitative and negligent” parenting that led to other high-profile fallouts.

She concluded in The Telegraph: “Some family rifts are tragic. This one feels more like the ultimate case of looking a very lavish gift horse squarely in the mouth.”

The letter came after Brooklyn perceived a series of hostile media briefings targeting his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, which he regarded as “nasty”.

Among the claims that particularly upset the couple was the suggestion that Brooklyn had become a “hostage” who was being “controlled” by his spouse.

Sources indicate the young couple found Instagram posts from Brooklyn’s parents distressing, with one insider stating they would wake up anxious about what might have been published about them overnight.

Some observers have dismissed suggestions that Nicola is directing Brooklyn’s actions as “misogynistic”, with sources insisting he is “very much his own man”.

The couple had hoped to resolve matters privately rather than through public channels, according to those familiar with the situation.

Brooklyn proceeded to block his parents, along with his younger brothers Romeo and Cruz, on social media in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

The family had reportedly been viewing and liking his cooking posts on Instagram, which was interpreted as contradicting Brooklyn’s desire to be left alone with his wife.

David and Victoria are understood to remain hopeful that the family rift will eventually heal, with friends saying they would “always be there” for their eldest son.

The couple are described as “utterly bemused and devastated” by recent developments, believing their social media activity was simply an attempt to signal that reconciliation remained possible.

“After this letter, they had no other physical means of reaching out to him so what were they to do?” one source asked.

Those close to Brooklyn maintain that a genuine apology is required before any relationship can be rebuilt.

His parents, meanwhile, who feel they have been subjected to sustained attacks and leaks since the 2022 wedding, would prefer both sides to draw a line under events and move forward.
