The Colorado and Deion Sanders hype train looks to have well and truly derailed.
Colorado and ‘Coach Prime’ were the darlings of college football after a 3-0 start, but the team has been in freefall in recent weeks.
They suffered a sixth straight defeat on Saturday against Utah that saw them finish the season 4-8.
And now they have had a top high school quarterback recruit decide to decommit from the program, too.
The Buffaloes appeared to have landed a major coup just over five weeks ago when Antwann Hill, the No. 3 quarterback of the 2025 class, decided to commit after reclassifying to the 2024 class and choosing to enroll early.

He even suggested that Sanders wanted him to take over from his son Shedeur as quarterback when he leaves the school.
But now after extensive talks with his family, Hill has chosen to remain in his 2025 class and reopen his recruitment.
‘Colorado is still a top priority for me,’ he told ESPN.
‘I really just want to take the process slower and make sure I’m making the right decision for me and my family at the end of the day.
It’s thought Hill has 30 offers at present with interest from the likes of Texas A&M, LSU and Michigan among others
‘I’m going to get back out there on the market and make the right decision.’
Colorado now face huge competition to land Hill, a 6ft 5in and 215 pound quarterback.
It’s thought he has 30 offers at present with interest from the likes of Texas A&M, Michigan, LSU, Alabama and Ole Miss among others.
Just four weeks ago, when he committed to Colorado, Hill said: ‘What led me there is, first, their communication.
‘They always communicated with me since the time 12:00am hit that morning on August 1. To sum it up, I can tell they really care about me and want me to take over the program when Shedeur leaves.
‘So whenever coach Prime said that, I knew he was being 100 per cent honest with me and I knew I would be a fool not take this opportunity that coach Prime had provided me with.’
Hill threw for 2,732 yards, 31 touchdowns and five interceptions this season.
But he’s not the first recruit from the 2025 class to decommit from Colorado. Wide receiver Winston Watkins also opted to reassess his decision.
