Harry and Meghan’s star power fades in Montecito in the fallout following Omid Scobie’s ‘Endgame’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s popularity is waning in the United States according to a new report showing a lack of interest

in the latest biography by Omid Scobie, who has previously been called the ‘Sussexes’ mouthpiece’.

This comes as the couple find themselves in the middle of a royal race row, stemming from revelations in the new biography ‘Endgame’.

Kinsey Schofield joined Mark Dolan to discuss the Sussexes’ waning popularity

GB News

GB News presenter Mark Dolan spoke with royal and showbiz commentator Kinsey Schofield to find out how the royal couple are faring with American audiences.

Mark began the discussion, asking: “What is the fallout to the release of this new book about the Sussexes ‘Endgame’ by Omid Scobie? How’s it going down in America?”

“Well, you know, Americans do eat up the soap opera element of all things royal,” said Kinsey. “That’s why Princess Diana was a queen here in the States, because of that soap opera element, the gossipy element that she attracted.

“So the headlines are here. However, in Montecito, it seems like Harry and Meghan’s star has fallen quite a bit. Montecito bookstores are refusing – I shouldn’t say refusing, there’s just no interest in Endgame!

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Kinsey Schofield (left) said the Sussexes’ Montecito neighbours have turned against them for their recent behaviour

GB News / PA

“This is from the Times, my friend Kieran Southern breaking this story that Montecito bookstores are not covering Endgame, that Montecito neighbours are uninterested and appalled by the way that Harry and Megan are not respecting their elders and it seems like they’re being very cruel towards their family members.

“So a lot of the neighbourhood saying that they are uninterested in the Sussexes and don’t respect them or appreciate the way that they’ve treated their family.

However, it seems sales of Scobie’s book is not the only indicator of the Sussexes’ dwindling popularity across the pond this week.

Mark also referenced the CNN show ‘King Charles’, a new weekly show hosted by Gayle King and Charles Barkley, which debuted last week and was among the lowest-rated CNN primetime show premieres in the past decade.

Royal biographer Omid Scobie denied being in ‘cahoots’ with Meghan Markle over the royal race claims

ABC

Kinsey laughed, saying: “We call it ‘Markled’. Remember that big headline ‘You got Markled’ and the definition is, you’ve associated with Meghan Markle. So you have professional failures.

“Gayle King is a huge champion of Harry and Meghan. I’d say she’s the American Omid Scobie, unless she’s competing with her good friend Oprah Winfrey. And she’s been trying to get Meghan Markle on this show.

“It premiered last week to the worst ratings CNN has ever had. It’s called King Charles, a play on Gayle King and Charles Barkley’s names. And you know, it appears so far, she’s been Markled!”

Mark rounded off the discussion, saying: “What goes around comes around.”
