You can improve the shine and health of your hair with regular haircuts, good quality products and by choosing the right hairstyles.

Other external factors can also impact how your locks grow, including how much stress is in your life.

While some types of stress are hard to avoid, reducing these emotions where possible could result in healthier and thicker hair.

This is according to co-founder of PowerYourCurls.com and board-certified dermatologist and trichologist Dr Hamdan Abdullah Hamed, MBChB.

He told GB News: “High stress can cause hair to fall out, so it is important to relax.

“Practice mindfulness and meditation as these activities can lower stress and improve your overall well-being.

“Also, keep moving. Doing exercise lowers stress and improves blood flow, both of which are beneficial for your hair.”

Another way to transform your barnet internally is by eating the right foods. In particular, filling up on the right nutrients.

The doctor suggested eating high-protein foods as these have been shown to strengthen your mane. Vitamins such as vitamins A, B, C and D can also help.

The expert also suggested looking for foods that contain iron and zinc. Supplements can also be used to increase your intake, but it is worth checking with a doctor before drastically changing what you eat.

Dr Hamed continued: “To have healthier, thicker hair you need to eat well, take care of your scalp the right way, and style your hair carefully.
