This is according to the founder of Ecoslay Adria Marshall who shared some of the best foods for your locks.

She advised eating meals high in protein and healthy fats, and getting enough vitamins in your diet.

An expert recommended four foods for healthy hair

Adria told GB News: “[It’s important to] nourish your hair from the inside out.

“Healthy hair starts with what you put in your body. Your diet plays a huge role in hair growth and thickness.

“Make sure you get enough protein, healthy fats (like omega-3s), and vitamins like biotin, vitamin A, and vitamin E.”

Meats, fish, nuts, tofu, dairy, eggs and seeds are all good and natural sources of protein. Fish, eggs and nuts are also a great way to add some healthy fats into your diet.

The hair guru recommended four foods in particular which are rich in vitamins, fats and protein and great for thicker, shinier hair.

She continued: “You can find these in foods like salmon, avocados, nuts, and leafy greens.” Another piece of advice she shared was to drink enough water every day.

Adria added: “Drinking plenty of water is critical, too. Hydrated hair is happy hair.”

While vitamins can be obtained through a healthy diet, those looking to add more to their lives can use the help of supplements.

Vitamin A is vital for cell growth which, in turn, helps your hair grow. It also produces sebum (oil) that keeps the scalp hydrated and hair looking shinier. It is found in the foods listed above.

Vitamin E is similarly important for hair growth. Some studies have shown its natural antioxidant effects support growth.
