Grooming gangs whistleblower Maggie Oliver has told GB News she is “eternally grateful” to presenter Patrick Christys after he revealed a new fundraiser to help victims of rape gangs.

As pressure mounts on the Labour Government to launch a national inquiry into the historic abuse suffered by young girls across Britain, GB News presenter Patrick has launched a campaign to raise money for the victims, on behalf of the Maggie Oliver Foundation.

After launching the fundraiser on GoFundMe with an initial target of £100,000, the donations quickly exceeded £140,000.

Discussing the campaign, Patrick told GB News viewers that after deciding “not to do another fundraiser for quite some time”, the growing scandal has “taken over events” of recent weeks.

Speaking on his GB News show, Patrick said: “I know this is an issue that GB News viewers and listeners care deeply about.

“It’s an issue that I care deeply about, and I wanted to do something that would hopefully last forever. I know the strength of feeling on this issue, and I thought we might as well aim big.”

Overcome with emotion, Oliver shared her reaction to the fundraiser, claiming she is “eternally grateful” for the fundraiser as her foundation is “not funded by the state”.

Oliver explained: “Right from day one, I have always said this is about the truth. It is about the evidence. It is not about point scoring. It’s about protecting children who have been repeatedly failed and calling out the lies, the cover ups and the corruption that I have seen for the past 20 years.

Oliver said ‘every penny raised’ will help the victims of Britain’s rape gangs

“This subject has taken over my life and when I started my charity in 2019, I did it because I was falling apart on my own. I now have a team of people who share my passion, but we do not get a penny from the state or for anybody else.”

Praising the public for their support, Oliver added: “It’s the public that have kept us here. And I take very, very seriously the responsibility to try to give victims a voice.

“We support them both on the emotional support side, where we dedicate a call every week with a trained ambassador who listens to the same stories, supports one person over many weeks, sometimes many months. People who have never had anywhere to go to talk safely on the other side, and we advocate legally for victims and survivors who were being written off and blamed.”

When asked by Patrick how the money raised by the fundraiser will help grooming gang victims, Oliver told GB News: “I don’t know where to start.

“All I would say is that it’s been very easy to to blame, to judge, to criminalise, to belittle the experiences of generations of children who have been failed.”

Oliver said the public has kept the charity going since it was set up in 2019

Stating the importance of Oliver’s charity, Patrick said: “I don’t want you to be grateful to us. I don’t think anyone here wants you to be grateful to us. Every single person should be incredibly grateful to you.

“This shows you, Maggie, how much people love you and care about you and how much people care about the victims of what has been going on in the survivors of what has been going on. So thank you so much, Maggie, for everything you do.”

Oliver responded: “Thank you so much. Every penny we get will be used to to help victims and survivors, to be heard and to fight for justice in any way that we can.

“And I give you my word for that. Thank you so much.”
