When the contacted HS2 about empty homes last week, we were told it was a matter for the government.
“We’re continuing to develop a clear programme for selling land no longer needed for Phase 2 of HS2,” a Department for Transport statement read.
The statement added bosses would make sure their approach provided value for the taxpayer and fully engage with people impacted.
News understands the government will set out details on its programme to sell unused land in due course.
All sales will be in accordance with Treasury rules on the use of public money but it is unclear how long the process will take.
