Gemma Atkinson has confirmed the ‘reality’ of her and Gorka Marquez’s rare night out together as they were reunited after weeks apart. The loved-up couple were back in each other’s company over the weekend when work brought them both to the same city.
Gemma, 39, and Gorka, 34, were reunited for the first time in weeks as the latter’s job as a professional dancer of Strictly Come Dancing takes him away from home.
While they perform each weekend they’re in the BBC One dance contest at the London-based studio, Gorka is also busy training alongside his celebrity dance partner Dr Punam Krishan in Glasgow, where the practising GP is based.

The pairing has meant that he’s not able to be at home in Greater Manchester with Gemma and their two children – Mia and Thiago – but Gemma’s own work brought her to London for a few days meaning they could be back together, even thought it was for a short while.
The couple, who met and fell in love on Strictly in 2017, were then both in attendance at the emotional Pride of Britain Awards on Monday night (October 21) as the annual event took place at The Grosvenor House Hotel.
The loved-up couple were seen strutting their stuff in complementary black outfits. While Gemma dazzled in an off-the-shoulder black gown that boasted oversized sleeves, ruched detailing and a thigh-high split, Gorka opted for the no-shirt look, covering up with a structured blazer and matching trousers which both featured intricate floral detailing with touches of sparkle.
Gorka shared a string of snaps of the pair, who met on Strictly in 2017 before getting engaged in 2021, on Instagram in which they could be seen giving their best fierce looks towards the camera before other photos showing them looking adoringly at one another. Alongside the post, the dancer wrote: “A night celebrating real Hero’s @prideofbritain. [black heart emoji] @glouiseatkinson.”
As fans rushed to flood them with compliments, branding them a ‘power couple’, Gemma was quick to share the reality as she commented on the post: “The reality of our night ending with Pizza and motocross.”
Gorka also shared the evidence to his Instagram Story. He shared a photo of the pair as they’d ditched their glam attire for their comfies and were seen tucking into pizzas in bed. “Nothing better than being in bed before midnight in our PJs and having room service,” the dancer wrote alongside the post. Resharing it to her own Instagram Story, Gemma wrote: “Rock N Roll!”
Gemma also took to Instagram with a video of the pair which showed them taking photos before they left for the red carpet and tear-jerking ceremony. Setting the video to the Billie Eilish track ‘Ocean Eyes’, the Hits Radio host brought another dose of reality by writing in the caption: “For 5hrs we got to act and look like we weren’t exhausted, overstimulated and concerned about our house being on its a**e.”
Gorka has since shared the video himself but in response, she teased her partner as she headed back up north, saying: “Sorry I forgot to bring your suit home with me,” to which he replied: “Yes u did!”
