Gemma Atkinson appeared to be fighting her emotions as she shared a sweet update on the growing sibling relationship between her two children.

The Hits Radio host and her Strictly Come Dancing star fiance Gorka Marquez share two children together – daughter Mia, five, and one-year-old Thaigo, years after falling in love while taking part in the BBC One dance show’s 2017 series.

The couple were recently forced to take time apart. While they’re no strangers to their work taking them in different directions over the years, the pair had to spend a chunk of time in different parts of the country as dancer Gorka competed in this year’s Strictly with GP and Morning Live star Dr Punam Krishan.

Fans were therefore delighted to see the pair reunited when Gemma’s work brought her to London meaning they were able to spent time together before they both attended the Pride of Britain Awards last month alongside Dr Punam and many of Strictly’s 2024 stars.

But it was just after, during Strictly’s Halloween special, that Gorka and Dr Punam were eliminated from the competition, meaning the former’s time in Scotland was coming to an end and he was able to return to Greater Manchester to be back with his family.

Now, Gemma has been documenting how fast time appears to have been going. Taking to Instagram over the weekend, the former Hollyoaks star shared a picture of Mia with Thiago on her lap taken in his early months. “How it started…” she typed alongside the sweet photo.

She then followed up the post on her Instagram Story with a video of Mia with Thiago on her lap more recently as they seemingly watched the TV together. “How it’s going…” Gemma typed with a face holding back tears emoji and a red heart icon. “In just 16 months,” she then added.

It comes after Gemma and Gorka were quizzed on whether fans will get to see more of their family life on the small screen. They have previously teamed up with W and UKTV Play for their own reality series, Gemma and Gorka: Life Behind the Lens.

The show, which first hit screens in 2023, follows the couple in both their professional and personal lives. The first three-part series followed the couple during Gemma’s second pregnancy while the second six-part series, which aired in May 2024, documented the duo adjusting to life as a family of four.

Speaking to Express.co.uk at the Pride of Britain Awards in October, the former Emmerdale actress revealed where they stand on a third series. “Potentially, yeah,” Gemma said of the show returning. “We’re currently in talks to do it but we keep thinking why do people want to keep watching us doing nothing. But it did really well, it was like the biggest show on their channel so possibly.”
