GBNews.com has been named the fastest growing website in Britain by a landmark report.
The site was awarded the prestigious accolade in the Similarweb UK Digital 100 rankings.
GBNews.com was crowned number one – across all categories – after recording a stunning 113% increase in monthly unique visitors.
The site’s average website audience grew from 4 million people in 2023 to 8.6 million last year.
That put the People’s Channel’s digital growth ahead of huge global brands such as e-commerce giant Ali Express, AI titan ChatGPT, travel advice site TripAdvisor and popular re-sale platform Vinted.
It comes just a day after the US version of the report revealed GB News was the fastest growing news brand in America.
A Similarweb spokesman said: “GB News more than doubled its audience to lead the Big Winners’ list, earning a spot among the fastest-growing news and media sites in both the UK and the US.
“GB News’ rise reflects the growing appetite for alternative perspectives in the UK media landscape.
“Its ability to engage a loyal and expanding audience has set it apart from competitors in a dynamic, evolving market.”
The report also put GB News in the Top 10 fastest-growing websites in the UK news and media category.
Geoff Marsh, Chief Content Officer for GB News, said: “To be named the fastest growing website in the country is an incredible achievement.

“To grow our digital audience faster, not just than other news brands, but every other company that operates in Britain is something very special.
“It’s not just sheer scale. We’re seeing increasing loyalty and engagement across our platforms, with record homepage, direct and app traffic as audiences turn to us and stay with us.
“Huge credit to our brilliant team of journalists who are fearless in telling the stories that really matter, every day, on TV, radio and online.
“And massive thanks to the people and communities in villages, towns and cities right across Britain who are putting their faith and trust in us.”
The success comes just a day after GBNews.com growth in America was also recognised by Similarweb.
They ranked GB News as the fastest growing news outlet in the USA, having grown its average audience there by an astonishing 420 per cent over the last year.
GB News secured stronger growth in America than sites run by Fox News, the New York Times and other US media giants.
Similarweb’s Digital 100 ranking for 2025, celebrates the companies that demonstrated the greatest digital growth. It calculated the aggregated growth of users of websites and apps around the world.
The firm released rankings for the US, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, India, and Brazil.
The data covers over 100 million websites in total covering 190 countries.
For the first time, the US and UK editions of the Digital 100 provide an equal depth of coverage for the fastest growing mobile apps, as well as the fastest growing websites, in every category.
The double Digital 100 success comes just weeks after GB News passed another significant milestone by clocking up more than five million followers on social media.
