Musician and podcaster Winston Marshall has fiercely defended GB News in a new YouTube video, after the People’s Channel was accused of being “Islamophobic”.
The former Mumford and Sons star declared: “So is it GB News who are being Islamophobic or is it that they are the only channel prepared to have the difficult conversations?
“Or is it that they are being attacked because they are a threat to the progressive Westminster consensus?”
The Muslim Council of Britain’s Centre for Media Monitoring has released a report, accusing GB News of failing to share Muslim perspectives on news stories and negative reporting of Islam.
In response to the claims, A GB News spokesman said: “This inaccurate and defamatory report is nothing more than a cynical, self-serving attempt to silence free speech.
“It proves exactly why a news organisation like GB News needs to exist and why it is succeeding.
“We are concerned that at no point did this project of the Muslim Council of Britain contact GB News or its presenters to allow them to respond to these highly defamatory allegations.”
Winston Marshall is the son of Paul Marshall, a businessman and philanthropist who invests in GB News.
