A further eight men have been charged in an investigation into child sexual exploitation.

The cases involve alleged attacks on two teenage girls in Rochdale between 2001 and 2006, Greater Manchester Police said.

Five men from Rochdale, one from Llandudno, one from Burnley and one of no fixed address are due before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on 27 July.

They have been charged with a total of 34 offences including rape, gross indecency, trafficking and other sexual offences.

Dozens of men have been charged as part of the force’s investigation – known as Operation Lytton – into historical sex offences against children.
