Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff will be returning to screens with the comeback of his BBC series, Field of Dreams.
The broadcaster announced the update in its annual plan, and will see Flintoff, 46, taking a young sports team on tour.
It comes as Top Gear seems unlikely to return, with the car show remaining off screens for the “foreseeable future” after Flintoff’s crash while filming in 2022.
The accident left the former cricketer with life-threatening injuries and scars which he is still recovering from following the incident.
While the broadcaster did announce in October 2022 that Field of Dreams had been commissioned, no further updates were given after his accident, which occurred two months later.
The first series aired in July of 2022, following the sportsman as he searched for unrecognised cricketing talent to assemble a special team.

The father-of-two joined Top Gear in 2019 alongside Paddy McGuinness and Chris Harris, but following the accident at the show’s Dunsford Park Aerodrome, no new episodes have aired.
Flintoff ended up reaching a settlement worth £9million with the BBC last year, with the broadcaster apologising for his injuries.
Earlier this month, McGuinness, explained he has not spoken to his former co-star in a long time.
The Sun reported it has been “10 months” since the 50-year-old talked to the former cricketer.

He told the publication: “Who knows what he must be going through? I still see his wife and we still chat, and we have the same barber, and it’s all lovely.“
“I messaged Fred recently saying, ‘Look, I can’t begin to think what you’re going through but rather than me bombarding you with loads of messages, which can be annoying, if you can’t be a***d with that, I’m always here. I hope you’re well and please God, I’ll see you soon’.”
He continued: “You just can’t begin to put yourself into his shoes. No one can know what’s going on in his head.”
At the end of last year, the BBC announced: “Given the exceptional circumstances, the BBC has decided to rest the UK show for the foreseeable future.
Field of Dreams will return with its second series

“The BBC remains committed to Freddie, Chris [Harris] and Paddy [McGuinness] who have been at the heart of the show’s renaissance since 2019, and we’re excited about new projects being developed with each of them.”
Fans weren’t sure if Flintoff’s step back from the spotlight would mean Field of Dreams would also be shelved, but it seems the show is being revived.
A date for the series is yet to be announced.
