A flight attendant has revealed the seat passengers should book to get a free upgrade.
Cierra Mistt, @cierra_mistt, regularly uploads videos about her life on TikTok, and in a previous clip shared her tips for bagging first class seats.
‘Here’s how to grab free first class on your next flight,’ she said in a clip.
The content creator went on to share where on the plane passengers should sit to increase their chances of an upgrade.
She said: ‘Number one, sit in the very first row. Now you might be thinking that sounds a little bit weird, but let me tell you why.’
Cierra explained that sometimes travellers are shifted into different seats to balance out the weight of the plane.
‘On flights that aren’t full, we normally have to move passengers for weight and balance purposes, and when we do that, it’s normally from the back to the front,’ she said.
The flight attendant revealed that the move benefits both the customers and the crew members.

Cierra said: ‘If that’s the case, the flight attendants are going to choose the people in the very last row to go up front because they can then sit down there after doing their service because it’s a lot more comfy to sit in those passenger seats than it is the jump seat.’
The second piece of advice the flight attendant shared only applied to overbooked planes.
‘Number two is even easier, and it’s for full flights which happen a lot nowadays,’ Cierra went on.
She revealed how passengers will be able to know if their plane has too many people.
‘You’ll know if your flight is full or even overbooked because the gate agents will normally make an announcement at the beginning telling you that it’s overbooked and that they need volunteers,’ Cierra explained.
The flight attendant warned that staff will make low offers to begin with, but that passengers are able to bargain for better deals.
‘They’ll normally start really low at like 200 to 500 as an airport voucher, here’s what you do instead,’ she said.

‘First, go to the gate agent. Second, give them a price and say that you want that in cash.’
The attendant shared another important aspect to this tip, that means passengers could bag an upgrade, as well as the cash.
Cierra said: ‘Last but not least, when the gate agent is rebooking you for that next flight, make sure that they put you in first class to compensate for the time that you’re losing because you had to get kicked from that flight.’
She confidently finished: ‘Over 99 per cent of the time, this works.’
