The first clip of the new Gavin and Stacey Christmas special has been released, showing Nessa getting behind the wheel of a rickshaw.
The 40-second teaser shows Nessa Jenkins, played by Ruth Jones, trying to swindle elderly customers for a £75 fee for a two-minute rickshaw ride.
Wearing her customary leather waistcoat, the short video does not reveal anything about her relationship with on-screen love interest Smithy, played by James Corden.
The hit TV series aired between 2007 and 2010 and returned in 2019 with a one-off festive special that ended on a cliffhanger when Nessa proposed to Smithy.
Corden was seen directing the scenes earlier this year for the highly anticipated final episode of the popular BBC sitcom.
The preview clip comes as BBC Studios released its first-ever range of Gavin And Stacey merchandise ahead of the series’ final episode.
Designed in collaboration with the show’s creators Jones and Corden, the range includes T-shirts and sweatshirts featuring phrases from the series such as: “o’ what’s occurring?”, Neil “Smithy” Smith’s curry order, and “hands off my bhunas”.
There are also a number of festive items featuring the show’s characters, with other phrases featuring on items of clothing including “tidy”, “back off” and “I know what happened on the fishing trip”.
Andrew Carley, director of consumer products at BBC Studios, said: “We are delighted to be launching the official Gavin And Stacey merchandise range for fans to enjoy the show’s most iconic memorable moments.
“The collection captures exactly what makes Gavin And Stacey so well loved and has something there for everyone this Christmas and beyond.”
Its final episode, Gavin And Stacey: The Finale, will air at 9pm on Christmas Day on BBC One and iPlayer.
A documentary about the series, Gavin And Stacey: A Fond Farewell, will be shown at 7pm on New Year’s Day on BBC One and iPlayer.
The merchandise collection can be purchased from BBC Studios licensing partner Teemill on its dedicated website.
