TV presenter Fearne Cotton has confirmed her surgery to remove two benign tumours from her jawline was successful.
The former Celebrity Juice captain underwent the procedure after discovering two growing tumours near her ear, which doctors confirmed were non-cancerous.
Cotton revealed she had initially noticed a lump under her ear on her jawline some time ago, but became concerned when she noticed it was growing this year.
Captioning a post on her Instagram, she said: “Hey gang. I’m going to be out of action for a bit due to surgery.
“I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing.
“Turns out it’s a benign tumour and another small one above it on the saliva gland. I’m feeling positive about it all and will take the opportunity to rest and slow right down.”
Fearne Cotton revealed the news last week about her tumours
She urged fans: “If you feel a lump or bump or feel like something is a bit off, always go get it checked.I’m so glad I did as the longer you leave these things the more complicated things become.
“It’s obviously so weird that only a couple of months ago Davina told me about her tumour and then weeks later I was calling her having discovered mine.
“I’m not only lucky she’s a bl***y good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff. Sending you all loads of love and I’ll see you soon.”
Further explaining her condition in the video, she explained: “I’ve got to have an operation. I’ve got a benign tumour just in my jaw here below my ear, and another tiny little one above it.”
The star gave an update after she underwent surgery
She went on to state she is “very grateful” the tumours are benign, “But they do need to come out because they’re on a nerve.
“So I’m going to have that surgery and then I’m going to be resting to get better before Christmas.”
In a recent update, the 43-year-old broadcaster shared an update about how the operation went and revealed: “Operation went really well. Recovering and resting.
“Thanks so much for all the kind messages.” (sic)
Cotton’s surgery news comes just weeks after her close friend Davina McCall underwent surgery for a rare brain tumour.
The broadcaster praised McCall as a “bloody good mate” and “beacon of light and positivity” during her own health journey.
McCall was quick to show her support on Cotton’s social media post, commenting: “Sending you so much healing and love can’t wait to give you a huge gentle cuddle.”
Cotton noted the coincidence of their diagnoses, saying it was “so weird” that weeks after McCall shared her news, she was calling her about her own tumours.
