Office: The FCA will let staff work at home three days a week for the next two years

The City watchdog will let staff work at home three days a week for the next two years.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) decision contrasts with major banks and tech firms, who insist staff come in more often.

Its 5,000 staff were told remote work can be ‘a better environment for more focused work’, in a memo seen by Bloomberg.

The regulator will undertake a ‘deeper review’ of its policy over the next few months.

Last month Big Four firm PWC demanded UK staff be at their desks or meeting clients at least three days a week from January.

And Spanish bank Santander also instructed its 10,000-strong UK workers into the office three days a week.

It comes as a new employment laws promise to give workers rights, such as being able to ‘switch off’.
