A European Minister has offered Sir Keir Starmer a one-word solution to help him on his way to tackle the small boats crisis.
Peter Szijjarto, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Hungary, spoke to the People’s Channel a day after setting out the measures its border police are taking to prevent illegal migration.
Mr Szijjarto spoke with GB News’ Charlie Peters in Budapest, and suggested Britain should consider upping its game with communications to do so.
Asked about the crisis engulfing the shores of Britain, the Hungarian minister said: “Well, I think that communication has a role here.”
He added top politicians are burdened with a “huge responsibility” to form clear and coherent arguments.
If there is such clarity in communication, he argued, “there is no way you can enter the territory of our country illegally” nor is there anyone willing to take such a risky journey.
He told Charlie: “In the case there are dubious statements, in the case there are statements which can be understood this or that way, then people will make attempts.
“And that’s very dangerous. That’s very dangerous for the UK, very dangerous for the people themselves because they take the life hazard.”

“And you think the Prime Minister and the UK Government are too dubious on this?” Charlie followed up.
Mr Szijjarto reiterated: “[Unless] you speak clearly, [unless] you say no illegal migrants are entitled to enter the territory of ours.
“And [say] ‘if you enter our territory as an illegal migrant, you’re going to be pushed back immediately’.
“I’m pretty sure that there would be a totally different situation.”

Charlie has been reporting live from across the continent while the Hungarian Government, led by Prime Minister Viktor Orban, unveiled their newest anti-immigration strategy.
To combat rising numbers of illegal migrants in Hungary, the European officials built razor-wire border fences along its southern borders with Serbia and Croatia to block illegal immigration.
Additionally, police constantly patrol the fences on the hunt for any suspicious activity around the area.
The officials are assisted by thousands of surveillance cameras and a continuous length of a fibre-optic cable which alerts officers to any interference with the fences.
Its latest crackdown, led by Mr Orban, is aimed to stop the large influx of illegal migrants and refugees crossing the border.
Instead, officials redirect them to legal entry points to claim asylum under Hungarian and EU law.
So far, the set-up has slashed the number of attempted crossings from over 100,000 in 2022 to just 12,000 last year.
While the majority of cases are caught by the police, migrants who successfully make it through the fence are not allowed to remain in Hungary.
