Enzo Fernandez’s ex-fiancee Valentina Cervantes has opened up on her split with the Chelsea star.
It comes after Fernandez, 23, split from his childhood sweetheart Cervantes to live on his own – despite them having a daughter and son together.
Cervantes followed Fernandez to Benfica when he joined the club in 2022, and then moved to London when he signed for Chelsea in a deal worth £107m last January.
But a little over 18 months on, the couple decided to go their separate ways.
The Chelsea star has enjoyed a strong run of form since splitting up with Cervantes, who has since moved back in with family, before opening up on the relationship.
In a recent interview with Paparazzi, she said: ‘Everything was fine and suddenly one day he told me that he didn’t want to be [with me] anymore. There are things that I still have to process, but that’s it, I accepted it.

‘When we met, I worked in an empanada restaurant and studied Law. He was in the lower River and then played in the reserve team. When we moved in together, I changed jobs to a call center near the Obelisk.
‘At that time I earned more than his representative gave him, we spent my entire salary, I had nothing left to save. And after 9 months I got pregnant with Olivia, I was 19 years old.’
When asked whether she was still in love with the Chelsea star, she replied: ‘I think love is still there because it is very difficult for it to leave so quickly.
‘I don’t depend on a man or anyone to be happy. With the company of my children I will always be happy.’
Since their split, Fernandez has since had a dramatic upturn in his form for the west London side and has worked his way back into the starting line-up – providing three goals and eight assists from his 20 appearances for the Blues.
Cervantes also revealed, in a separate interview, that she had reunited Fernandez with their two children – Olivia and Benjamin – for the first time since their split.
‘It only took a few days, so luckily they were able to be with their dad and I was with them too, so it was great,’ she explained to Minuto Uno.
Cervantes initially broke her silence over the matter a month later, when she appeared on Argentine television programme LAM, sharing that her background as a child of separated parents had shaped her mature perspective.
‘Everyone takes it and goes through different processes, I tried to go for the healthier side,’ Cervantes told reporter Alejandro Castelo. ‘I love Enzo, I would never disrespect him.
‘He is a person who accompanied me for many years and I also accompanied him, and I will continue to accompany him.’

Adding that she was ‘comfortable’ with her current relationship status as single, Cervantes explained that the break-up had nevertheless been ‘a surprise’.
‘There (could) be weariness on his part, but it didn’t happen on my part,’ she added.
‘What he does from the day we separated onwards is his life. I’m not going to get involved and I’m going to respect the woman he chooses, as long as it’s okay with my children.
‘As I respect him, I would respect the woman he chooses to have at his side.’
Announcing the end of their relationship in October, Cervantes wrote on Instagram: ‘With Enzo today we say distance from each other. But we will always be family and support each other through everything. Because there are two kids in the middle that need a lot of our love for them.
‘I know the person and excellent father Enzo is, and the heart he has. And that’s enough for me. They don’t want to create wars where there aren’t any.’
Rumours suggest Fernandez is now dating Argentine rapper-singer Nicki Nicole
Since their split, rumours have begun circulating that suggest Fernandez is now dating Argentine rapper-singer Nicki Nicole.
Neither Nicole nor Fernandez has yet commented on the allegedly budding romance, but as per La Nacion, the pair are believed to have met at the end of October at Buenos Aires nightclub Moby Dick.
Fernandez is believed to have separated from Cervantes before the beginning of his relationship with Nicole, but the pair were filmed talking in the nightclub on TikTok – although shortly after the video went viral, Nicole shared a comment which stated that she had attended the party with ‘the person (she is) currently dating’.
As per the outlet, Nicole – who has a staggering 22.6million Instagram followers – is thought to have previously dated Formula One prospect Franco Colapinto.
