Emmerdale will air five flashforward scenes which will hint at what’s to come in 2025 for the villagers.

During the upcoming New Year’s Eve episode, which will air on Tuesday, December 31, the ITV soap will feature five jaw-dropping moments that will tempt and tease the audience with a taste of what’s to come but what do these cryptic scenes mean and what does the future hold for villagers in the months to come?

Emmerdale Producer, Laura Shaw, said: “The flashforwards will tease several storylines that will reveal a sneak peak of what’s to come across 2025.

“As our villagers toast the New Year, a glimpse into each of their futures will be revealed. As the fate of those depicted hangs in the balance, the only thing for certain is it’s going to be an explosive year in Emmerdale.”

Elsewhere in the village, Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) is desperately trying to make a fresh start with her daughter Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay), but is struggling with the fact her abusive father, Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day) is living in the village.

Anthony knows that Ruby slept with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) which is adding extra tension to the situation. Ruby confides in Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) that Caleb Milligan (William Ash) may not be Steph’s father and she makes the decision to gain control of the situation but her secrets won’t stay quiet for long and as a result her whole world begins to implode.

Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock), Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and April Windsor’s (Amelia Flannigan) family and friends are devastated to begin the New Year not knowing where she is. Marlon blames himself and when a secret is revealed, Marlon and Rhona struggle to pull together to support each other at a time when they need each other more than ever.

Also, Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) is grieving her father, Will Taylor. At first she is suspicious of Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) sudden arrival, but soon makes a discovery which turns her suspicions towards her step-mother Kim Tate (Claire King). Is grief blinding poor Dawn’s judgement or is she on to something?

It’s not long before Dawn takes matters into her own hands and in the process makes decisions that could ruin her life. The winter nights are long, dark and cold, but what should be a fun night out ends in a devastating disaster which will shatter life in the village forever.
