Today is the day of the General Election and the polls have opened at 7am. They will close at 10am.

You can vote as long as you are in the queue by 10pm.

There are 650 constituencies across the UK and each candidate with the most votes will gain a seat in the House of Commons, becoming a member of parliament (MP).

The party with the most MPs will then form a government if it has a majority, which is at least 326 seats.
