Eddie Hearn has slammed Deontay Wilder’s defeat to Joseph Parker as ‘the most one-sided heavyweight fight’ ever.
The New Zealander claimed victory over Wilder during the Day of Reckoning co-main event via unanimous decision, with judges scoring it 120-108, 118-11 and 118-110.
It was an underwhelming performance from the American, who rarely looked like hurting his opponent during the thrilling event in Saudi.
Afterwards, Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn slammed Wilder’s performance, as he told TNT Sports: ‘I said in the build-up I don’t rate him. Wilder had no idea, no clue.
‘He lost every round. He had his hand up telling the referees he won the fight. He’s not right. That’s the reality.

Wilder was second-best against Parker during the Day of Reckoning co-main in Saudi Arabia
Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn was quick to dismiss Wilder’s credentials afterwards
‘It was the most one-sided heavyweight fight I’ve ever seen. It’s ruined our plans. We’ve got to go let Anthony Joshua know Wilder lost to Parker. We must win this fight. And after that, I’m nervous.’
Parker dominated throughout the fight and nearly looked to deal Wilder his first stoppage defeat since Tyson Fury in 2021 after a huge flurry in the eighth round.
The New Zealander didn’t hold back as he charged forward and threw a combination of left and right hooks towards Wilder, who stumbled backwards in hope of surviving.
It’s fair to say that Parker’s dominance was coming, after dominating the prior seven rounds against the American.
Speaking after the fight, Parker said: ‘Everyone had plans, other plans, but this is God’s plan… Tyson Fury, thanks for all your help, I appreciate it a lot.’
Meanwhile, Wilder said the following when asked if he did enough to beat Parker: ‘Yeah I did, but my timing was off a little bit. He did a great job avoiding my punches, we make no excuses tonight.’
Wilder admitted his ‘timing was off’ after suffering his third defeat in four fights
