EastEnders has teased Karen Taylor’s exit following a shocking confrontation.
Viewers know that cast member Lorraine Stanley will be leaving the BBC One soap, with the latest instalment hinting she could flee Walford with Phil Mitchell’s money.
In Thursday’s episode (December 7), Keanu threw his own mother Karen under the bus when Phil revealed an incriminating photo of Albie taken during the period when he was missing.
Karen couldn’t believe her own son was letting her take the rap, though she didn’t get much time to answer before Sharon stormed across the pub to slap her.

“Sharon, I didn’t know. I swear! This is the first I’ve heard of this,” Keanu deceptively insisted.
When Phil accused Keanu of lying, Karen covered for her son by claiming she’d masterminded the kidnapping completely on her own.
“It was all me,” a tearful Karen claimed. “[Keanu] and Mitch had nothing to do with it. It was me!”
Mitch was disgusted as Keanu joined those condemning his mother, until Karen fled the pub in shame. Phil confronted Keanu, making him swear he had nothing to do with stealing the ransom money.
“I knew [my mum] would do anything for money, but this? I swear, on my life, Phil. I swear,” Keanu told him.
Sharon’s instinct was to call the cops on Karen and Phil demanded his stolen ransom money back, forcing Keanu to try to stall them both.

Keanu made a secret trip home where he confessed to sister Bernie that the whole plot had been his idea. He begged his sibling not to tell Sharon, before she told him she wanted nothing to do with him.
Next, it was time for Karen and Keanu to face off over the whole sordid plot. As Mitch begged Karen to simply tell the truth, she insisted she would “carry the can” for her son to ensure he has a better life.
Karen arrived at the conclusion that she would have to leave Walford forever — admitting to Mitch that she felt like “the fight’s been kicked out” of her.
“This money gives us possibilities. What’s the point of waiting around for Sharon to call the police?” she pointed out. “Tonight, I’ve got to leave Walford.”
