EastEnders fans are convinced Stevie Mitchell is a wealthy man and will eventually pass on his riches to son estranged son Billy Mitchell. As viewers of the BBC One soap will know, Stevie recently turned up in Walford wanting to reconnect with his estranged son Billy Mitchell who he hadn’t seen for decades.
But he didn’t receive a warm welcome as Phil Mitchell immediately told his uncle Stevie to leave Albert Square. But luckily Stevie stayed around a little longer and exposed Nadine for faking a pregnancy and claiming Jay Brown was the baby’s dad. The discovery caused the younger Mitchell’s to warm to Stevie and demand he stays in their lives.
This week, Will Mitchell has wanted to get to know his grandad Stevie more and invited him to lunch alongside Janet and Lexi Pearce. Billy was furious about the secret meet-up and warned Will to stay away from Stevie as the father and son squared up to one-another in tense scenes.

Honey urged Billy to give his dad one more chance as their children shouldn’t be forced to neglect their grandad. After getting some sound advice for his cousin Phil, Billy met Stevie in The Queen Vic on Thursday to figure out why he has come back into his life.
Stevie reassured Billy that he’s now a “lonely old man” as his friends are all dying. He even said he goes to the supermarket to speak to the check-out girls for company in a heart-breaking admission.
Billy decided to keep an eye on Stevie as he still didn’t trust him, but invited him home to spend time with the family. But in what would be an epic twist, some EastEnders fans think Stevie isn’t up to anything dodgy and is actually a rich man and wants to share his wealth with his family.
Taking to X, fan wrote: “If Stevie is a secret billionaire and leaves everything to Billy (or Will) I won’t complain. That family needs money to redecorate their awful house #EastEnders”. A second added: “I bet Stevie is rich and will die and leave Billy all his money just as Billy forgives him #eastenders.”
A third exclaimed: “I think Stevie is loaded #EastEnders”. Another added: “I think Stevie is on the ball – he just wants to reconnect with his family. And not die alone. #EastEnders.”
