EastEnders has confirmed that three characters will make a major discovery next week, in the aftermath of Cindy Beale’s attack.
On Christmas Day, Cindy’s secrets were revealed in dramatic fashion in The Vic, including her affair with Junior and her feelings for ex-husband George.
After she burnt all her bridges, Cindy was attacked with a snow shovel in the Square and was left in a critical condition – with the identity of her attacker set to be revealed during the show’s 40th anniversary week.

A number of clues have already been revealed, including George having blood on his shirt and Kathy not having an alibi for the time of the attack.
In scenes that will air next week, the mystery will continue to unfold as Elaine holds a crisis meeting in The Vic to try and get to the bottom of Cindy’s attack.
It isn’t long before suspicion falls on Junior, so in an attempt to clear his name, he makes another confession that leaves everyone shocked.

Peter is furious about this revelation and ends up starting a fight with Junior, while George also tells his son some home truths.
Later, Junior heads to the hospital to visit Cindy at her bedside, while she remains in a coma – but he is surprised by what he finds on his arrival.
Meanwhile at The Vic, tensions remain high between Elaine and George. She previously kicked him out, fearing that he still had feelings for Cindy, and she continues to question his loyalty.

But that evening, Elaine, Anna and Gina are all shocked by a new discovery. The trio discuss the best course of action to take in the light of their findings.
Gina and Anna take matters into their own hands and secretly attempt to dispose of their discovery. But what they don’t realise is that they are being followed by Peter.
Peter confronts Anna and Gina and demands the truth. The sisters realise they are out of options and tell Peter everything, and he eventually agrees to keep their secret.
