EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has aired a dramatic showdown for Linda Carter and Dean Wicks following a series of mysterious texts from ‘Mick Carter’.
In tonight’s (December 22) episode, Linda continued to receive messages from a number claiming to be her husband who, as viewers will remember, disappeared last Christmas and is presumed dead.
While viewers were aware that it was Dean – Mick’s brother and Linda’s rapist – who was behind the messages, Linda struggled to give up hope that it could be Mick and agreed to meet him at a clearing, only to be met by Dean.
Determined to get to the bottom of his scheme, Linda demanded an explanation for his actions, asking: “Why are you doing this, why are you playing these stupid games?”

Dean told Linda that he had contacted her pretending to be Mick as he thought that was the only way she’d meet him and he wanted to say sorry. He then revealed that he was scared for his daughter Jade’s life after receiving a phone call from the hospital informing him that she only had 30% lung capacity.
Dean then asked Linda if Jade’s illness was his fault, believing that karma meant he needed to make amends in order for his daughter to survive. “I know none of this makes any sense, but I can’t think of what else to do,” he said.
“I’m someones daughter too and what happened to me weren’t my fault either,” Linda replied, before asking Dean to admit out loud that he did in fact rape her.
However, she refused to accept his apology and called Dean out for trying to guilt her into forgiving him.

“You think that if you do this, there might be some miracle, that Jade might get better,” she said.
“You’re still the same as you always have been and no amount of empty words is going to change that… you’re a coward.”
Dean continued to press Linda to accept his apology – causing the Vic landlady to snap and lash out at him after he grabbed her arm, slapping and kicking him to the ground.
Will Dean and Linda’s confrontation be connected to the upcoming Christmas Day death in the Vic?
