The M25 has been closed following a serious vehicle collision which took place earlier this morning causing more than 90 minutes of delays.
Lanes 3 and 4 of the motorway have closed clockwise in Buckinghamshire between J16 (M40) and J17 (Rickmansworth) due to a serious collision.
Emergency services including Thames Valley Police are in attendance alongside National Highways Traffic Officers to assist with traffic management.
A diversion has been put in place for drivers to follow while the emergency services attend the scene.
Delays are estimated to be around 90 minutes
NATIONAL HIGHWAYS
Road users are advised to follow the hollow triangle diversion symbol on road signs and leave the M25 at J16 and join the M40 eastbound towards Uxbridge.
From here they should follow the M40 eastbound to J1 and take the exit slip to the Denham roundabout. At the roundabout take the first exit onto the A40 towards Amersham.
Drivers need to continue on the A40 until the signalised junction with the A412 and turn right onto the A412 towards Rickmansworth.
Proceed on the A412 to the Maple Cross roundabout and take the first exit onto the A405 Denham Way.
Drivers should follow the A405 to the M25 J17 roundabout and take the third exit to rejoin the M25 clockwise and continue your journey.
National Highways said on social media: “2 (of 4) lanes are closed on the M25 clockwise Buckinghamshire between J16 M40 J1A Uxbridge and J17 Rickmansworth following a serious collision.
“If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.”
The delays were announced at around 7:45am

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told GB News: “This was a multi-vehicle collision involving seven vehicles, including a motorcycle.
“The motorcyclist has suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital.The carriageway is in the process of being cleared up and all lanes are open, but running slowly.”
