A dog has been destroyed after attacking a woman in Dumfries and Galloway.
Emergency crews were called to the village of Kelloholm at about 18:25 on Saturday following reports of the incident.
The animal, described as a “large bulldog-type dog,” was subdued in the McConnel Street area by officers.
The woman was taken to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
