The skin will naturally show signs of ageing as the years go by, but eating certain foods can impact how noticeable ageing is.

Doctors explained eating more foods high in Omega-3 can help the skin to look healthy.

This can be taken as a supplement but it is also found in oily fish.

Aesthetic doctors at Sozo Aesthetic Clinic told GB News what to eat to “boost your glow from within”.

They said: “As the winter chill sets in, prioritising a healthy diet is crucial for maintaining clear and radiant skin.

“A nourishing, well-balanced diet rich in antioxidants and hydration is the secret to combating the harsh effects of winter on your skin.

“Oily fish helps boost skin hydration. Omega-3 fatty acids found in fish like mackerel, tuna and sardines are known for their anti-inflammatory properties, which can have considerable benefits to our skin.”

Dry skin can often appear dull or more aged, so eating hydrating foods such as salmon can help the skin look plump and healthy.

Overall, it can reduce signs of ageing and help keep breakouts under control, the experts continued.

They said: “Salmon, especially, is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and nutrients, including astaxanthin, which helps protect the skin from oxidative stress, contributing to anti-ageing benefits.”

This comes as another doctor shared the five supplements everyone should take to live longer and look younger.

Dr Youn agreed Omega-3 Fatty Acids are key and detailed studies that show the anti-inflammatory benefits that can soothe and moisturise the skin from within.

He added it is important to take multivitamins containing vitamins A, C, D and zinc.

Experts have shared other supplements that could be worth considering.

Dr Neil Paulvin shared he has noticed huge benefits from taking taurine.
