Dick and Angel Strawbridge recently made clear there would be no more Escape to the Chateau-style shows, but they’ve now explained they’d be open to getting in front of the cameras to give an “update”.

The couple found fame with their Channel 4 series after they packed away their UK life and moved into a chateau in France, which they revamped into a thriving business and family home.

However, since the series was axed by Channel 4 in 2022, they’ve stated on several occasions there will be no more documentary-style programmes showcasing their unique way of life, instead focusing on their podcast and book releases.

In a recent interview, the pair delved into why they are happy to focus on other projects but also teased an Escape to the Chateau update for fans of the show.

Dick, 64 and Angel, 46, again ruled out making another show while speaking to Yahoo, with Dick adding: “We did everything to have our life and we shared all the Escape to the Chateau years.

“Every year we stopped and we thought, ‘are we going to do this?’ We had a conversation about it. As the children got older, we talked about the children and what they wanted to do.”

He continued: “We have got some big projects at the moment. The number one thing is Arthur to start senior school.

“Dorothy is growing up so, so fast and we were really thinking about living at the Chateau with the children more than we are generating television.”

Going on to add the family have “a really lovely normal life,” the couple told the publication they’d be happy to get in front of the cameras again for a special update.

Angel stated the family would be fine with “filming for a small amount of time” at their home.

The couple have noted how they made certain decisions based around their children

“We have always said that we’re very open to a little update because we are really aware that everyone that has followed us around the world, they want an update but that is very different from having the cameras here for the whole year and for the children,” she added.

The pair recently made a candid admission about their two children, with Angel detailing: “We just found out that both the children can come with us for the whole tour, literally seconds ago!”

Speaking to Virgin Radio, Dick added: “Arthur is now starting college in September, big school, and we were a little bit concerned because he hasn’t even started yet.”

Elaborating on their children’s involvement in their travel, he added: “We’ve never had any problems with Dorothy and Arthur while they’ve been at primary school because the headmistress there always says, ‘It’s education, take them away, they will learn so much from travelling around the place!'”

The couple enjoyed a nine-series run of the show

He admitted: “We were worried about senior school but he said yes, go for it!”

Adoree, 46, went on: “We’ve got lined up next summer a festival, the Jack of All Trades Festival,” expressing their excitement for the new experience.

She continued: “We’re in this new era now, where the children are growing up, we still have our wedding and events business, we’re writing books, we have our podcast, we’re doing tours.

“There’s lots happening and all of that is really exciting but having those little nuggets of things that are going to take us outside our comfort zone as well is great.”
