Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell had to keep her partner Chris McCausland in line after he claimed their upcoming performance for Halloween Week was “not fun”.
On Saturday night, the couple performed the Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone by Gerry and the Pacemakers, with the display leaving viewers, the audience and judges emotional.
During the results show on Sunday, Buswell revealed to McCausland that they will be performing the Samba to Stayin Alive’ by The Bee Gees for the upcoming Halloween Special.
Whilst the pro-dancer and her colleagues were excited about their upcoming dance, McCausland was less than impressed and remarked: “I’m glad you’re all enthusiastic about it!”
The couple joined It Takes Two host Janette Manrara, who picked up on McCausland’s dislike for the Latin dance, on Wednesday evening.
She asked: “Chris, let’s talk about the results show.
“You didn’t seem excited when you found out you were going back to the Latin. What is it about the Latin that puts you off so much?”

The comedian laughed and noted: “I have really enjoyed the Foxtrot and the Waltz and the others just feel very…
“They just don’t feel like something you would do for fun you know. They feel, no one is going out and doing the Samba for fun.
“It feels like something you would do for a competition or… some kind of performance, which is what we are doing, but…”
Buswell sternly reminded him: “I was going to say, Chris, we are in a competition and we are performing.”

Using his comedic talent to get him out of the situation, he joked: “I have figured that out, I mean it has taken me six weeks but I have got up to speed with that.
“But all the others like Ballroom feel like what people used to do in the old days, it is romantic and soppy and oldie worldie and I like it.
“Plus it’s a bit slower and less knackering, and the Samba… I mean I heard before Tasha saying it was hard, so if Tasha is saying it’s hard, imagine how I am feeling!”
On Saturday night, head judge Shirley Ballas found herself “emotional” and needing “a moment” before handing out her comments to the couple.
She said: “I think I need a minute to get myself together here, I found that extremely emotional. You know I am from that neck of the woods shall we say, close to Liverpool.
“I thought this number, I mean the music itself is just beautiful, but your footwork! Your lines! Your attempt to keep your frame throughout the whole thing, your concentration, but your footwork!

“I am coming back to the footwork, I don’t think I have ever witnessed footwork like that, it was spectacular.”
She continued: “You have got to start with the footwork first, you have got to get the footwork and the soft knees, you have got to get a core going.
“Then it goes into the frame and your frame is a lot better than when you did your Foxtrot, it is improving all the time.”
