Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers died last week after a two-year battle with cancer – leaving his fortune and businesses behind to his family.
Myers and co-star Si King met on the set of Catherine Cookson’s miniseries back in 1995, where Myers was a make-up artist – specialising in prosthetics – and King was a location manager.
The pair bonded over their love for motorcycles and food and went on to build their faultless reputation as the friendly faces of culinary comforts and worked together on 31 separate projects since they first began working together in 2006.
In 2012, the duo released their first diet-focused cookbook which was sold alongside an accompanying TV show, The Hairy Dieters: How To Love Food and Lose Weight.
Their new era of healthy eating began and the pair began to make changes to their eating habits after revealing they were both on medication for issues linked with their lavish lifestyles.
Determined to not give up their passion of cooking good, hearty food, they went on to tweak their recipes – such as a lasagna made with sheets of leek instead of pasta and beans on toast with parma ham instead of bacon.

Their series also underwent a healthy makeover as they climbed off of their high speed motor bikes and hopped on pedal bikes to help them get more exercise.
With the change in recipes their book sold incredibly well and in February 2014, it was named the most-borrowed non-fiction title in UK libraries.
In total, Myers and King produced 20 cookbooks in total, ranging from inviting pies to veggie feasts, with The Hairy Bikers’ Great Curries also being a bestseller on Amazon and received raging reviews.
Outside of cookbooks, Myers owned a production company with his with Liliana Orzac which is worth £1.4 million and made a healthy profit of £200,000.

The TV chef also owned Hairy Bikers Television with King which was worth £92,000 – bringing the former make-up artists overall fortune to £1.5 million.
Myers never revealed the type of cancer he had before he died, and previously explained why he chose to keep it to himself and his family.
During one of his recent TV appearances at the end of last year – The Hairy Bikers: Coming Home for Christmas – Myers discussed his illness.
He explained: “I feel like that’s my business. I don’t want newspaper to run a lottery on how long I’ve got to live. That’s not what I want. I felt so guilty because of the effects its having on my wife.”

Myers also previously admitted in an interview with The Guardian in 2022 that he didn’t want to be “judged”.
“Everybody then goes Googling, everybody becomes an amateur doctor. And I don’t want to be judged – yet. A huge inconvenience is the best way to describe it.”
