Princess Beatrice, who is expecting her second child, chose to remain in the UK following medical advice against travelling abroad.
She had originally planned to spend Christmas in Italy with her husband’s family.
The couple intended to travel abroad with their daughter Sienna and Edoardo’s son Wolfie for the festive season.
However, medical advice against long-distance travel during her pregnancy prompted a change in plans.

The princess, who is in the final months of her second pregnancy, instead joined King Charles and other senior royals at Sandringham.
Buckingham Palace announced in October that Princess Beatrice is expecting her second child, due in early spring.
The change in arrangements allowed the family to participate in the traditional royal Christmas celebrations in Norfolk.

The 36-year-old royal wore a tan coat over a black dress, paired with black knee-high boots for the festive occasion.
Edoardo embraced the seasonal spirit, sporting a forest green tie for the church service. Meanwhile, Wolfie looked smart in a grey jacket with navy trousers.
The family group was joined by their three-year-old daughter Sienna as they celebrated Christmas at the Sandringham estate.
The princess joined other senior members of the Royal Family including King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales for the traditional service.

Princess Eugenie, 34, proceeded with her original plans to visit her husband Jack Brooksbank’s family for Christmas.
Neither Princess Beatrice nor Princess Eugenie spent Christmas Day with their parents at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Prince Andrew, Beatrice’s father, opted to remain away from the Sandringham celebrations amid controversy surrounding his links with an alleged Chinese spy.
Sarah Ferguson also stayed at the Royal Lodge in Windsor for the festive period.
The arrangements meant a split in the York family’s celebrations this year, with members marking the occasion at separate locations.
