Cristiano Ronaldo has celebrated reaching one billion followers across all social media platforms.
The Portugal star has over 100 million followers on X and more than 600 million followers on Instagram. He also recently launched his own YouTube channel, which has already amassed 60 million subscribers. Ronaldo has over 170 million followers on Facebook and is also extremely popular on Chinese social media platforms.
Ronaldo thanked his fans across the world and reflected on his journey from a young boy in Madeira to becoming one of the greatest players of all time.
In a message on X, Ronaldo wrote: ‘We’ve made history — 1 BILLION followers! This is more than just a number – it’s a testament to our shared passion, drive, and love for the game and beyond.
‘From the streets of Madeira to the biggest stages in the world, I’ve always played for my family and for you, and now 1 billion of us stand together. You’ve been with me every step of the way, through all the highs and the lows.

Ronaldo’s post included a graphic detailing many of the standout moments in his career accompanied by the caption ‘A billion dreams, one journey’.
Ronaldo also recently achieved another landmark as he scored his 900th career goal while playing for Portugal against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
Throughout his illustrious career, Ronaldo has played for Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid, Juventus and his current club Al-Nassr in addition to having two spells at Manchester United.

The 39-year-old is currently playing for Al-Nassr, for whom he has scored 62 goals in 68 games
This week Ronaldo has again criticised United boss Erik ten Hag after the Dutchman admitted his team cannot win the Premier League.
‘The coach, they say they cannot compete to win the League and Champions League,’ Ronaldo said.
‘(As) Manchester United coach, you cannot say that you’re not going to fight to win the League or Champions League.
‘You have to be, to mentally say, listen, maybe we don’t have that potential, but I cannot say that. We’re going to try. You have to try.’
Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’Or five times and has won 33 trophies during his career.
