Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street has set up Linda Hancock’s return, as there’s more trouble surrounding her maternal grandson Joseph Brown.
Gemma Winter-Brown has been struggling in recent months, and things peaked just last night after it was revealed that she accidentally poisoned Joseph with lavender oil, something that the social worker found out about.
In scenes set to air next week, Joseph is still complaining of a headache. When Gemma goes to get painkillers, she hears a knock at the door: it’s child protection officer Caitlin.

Caitlin has put strict rules in place regarding Joseph and the home situation while the investigation is still ongoing and finds that the scene may be in breach of those rules. Chesney hears of this and is extremely upset.
A few days later, Gemma and Chesney kiss and make up, but then he drops the bombshell that Linda is coming to stay.
Gemma is instantly concerned about Linda’s return, but will the added pressure make her stressful situation even worse for her?

It’s not the only issue facing the family at the moment, as Bernie was recently arrested after selling some dodgy goods, and it’s been confirmed that she will be spending Christmas Day in jail.
Meanwhile, Gemma’s brother Paul Foreman is also preparing to deal with what’s likely to be his last Christmas, as his Motor Neurone Disease worsens.
Is there any light on the horizon for the Winter family after such a difficult time?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
