Coronation Street fans think Les Battersby may have been killed and that his murderer has already been on the cobbles. As fans of the ITV soap recently saw, Les’ daughter Leanne Battersby was informed of her father’s death.
Leanne was left stunned by the unexpected news when a police officer arrived at her flat and told her: “Leanne Battersby, there’s no easy way to say this – your dad was involved in an accident at work last night,” the policewoman told her. I’m sorry but he died from his injuries.”
Les’ step-daughter Toyah Habeeb was given the news by complicated lover Nick Tilsley before Leanne broke the news to Chesney Brown, leaving them all in understandable shock.

It was then during Wednesday night’s (December 4) Corrie that Adam Barlow spoke to Leanne, Toyah and Chesney about Les’ will, with him leaving a letter for them to read.
The moment left Leanne in tears but they were all quickly left shocked to learn of an offer of £50,000 by the abattoir where Les died. Les’s workplace insists it’s just compensation, but Chesney was having doubts and appeared keen to investigate the circumstances of his stepdad’s death.
But as Corrie fans know, Chesney has been having a difficult time of late. Viewers will recall seeing Chesney angering a mystery van driver last week when he blocked them in at a carpark. The driver retaliated by scraping Chesney’s car, and later that week they nearly drove into Chesney and his vehicle. Chesney claimed it must have been the same person leaving his young son Joseph worried and looking out for the mystery person’s return.
It was then during Monday night’s (December 2) trip to the cobbles that things took a sinister turn when Chesney found that his tyres had been slashed. Amid his grief for his late stepfather Les Battersby, Chesney confided in sister Fiz Brown and revealed all about the ongoing drama with the van driver.
Now, some Corrie fans think Les’ death and the mystery van driver could be connected and took to social media to share their thoughts.
@AndrewGodsell asked: “So is the mystery man in the van who has been hassling Chesney connected to Les being killed at work? #Corrie.” @runninoncaffine commented: “I think that guy in the van has something to do with Les I think it could be a relative he doesn’t know but I may be wrong #corrie @itvcorrie.”
@LeroyStHillwell echoed: “Right so now that van could be some butcher trying to intimidate Les’ nearest and dearest #Corrie.” @Wee_Westie29 added: “I wonder if Rowan and the institute or Greg Kelly or the guys in the van had a hand in Les’s “accident.” It all sounds too dodgy. #Corrie #CoronationStreet.”
