“The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

“The products have been recalled from end users. Consumers in possession of any affected waffle makers should stop using them immediately.

“Access the Prod Protect website to obtain a free latch adaptor part and written instructions to complete the required repair: https://recall.prodprotect.com/wafflizer.”

The official product recall reads: “Empower Brands of Middleton, WI Recalls Stuffed Wafflizer Models ESWM02 and ESWM03 due to the potential for food material to be expelled from the unit due to pressure buildup from steam and food material during cooking when a unit is overfilled and latched.

“When the unit is then unlatched, the accumulated pressure release may have the potential to expel food material.”

Britons were told how to identify if their product was affected by the recall. Shoppers were advised: “This recall only affects Wafflizer Models ESWM02 and ESWM03.

“You can check the model of affected Wafflizer waffle makers by looking at the rating label. The rating label is located on a tab on the power cord.”
